Finally it's official... I'm a doctor! On Friday 20th of September I defended my PhD titled Melody Extraction from Polyphonic Music Signals, supervised by Dr. Emilia Gómez and Dr. Xavier Serra from the Music Technology Group at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. The members of the thesis board were:
Following a 45-minute presentation and almost 2 hours of questions and discussions, the board awarded the thesis the grade of Excellent with the mention of Cum Laude.

Finally, here's a photo from the post-defense celebration alongside Dr. Jose Ricardo Zapata and Dr. Agustín Martorell, both of whom defended their theses successfully the day before my defense! Congratulations everyone!
